Joy Nelson

Joy Alice Nelson, age 91, a resident of Frederic passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Joy was born on December 30, 1925 in Allamakee County, Iowa to the late, Harold and Mabel (Kloke) Britain. Joy enjoyed crocheting and gardening, both vegetable and floral. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino with her husband, Anders for fun. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Ronald Nicol and Gary Nicol; sisters, Alice and Dorothy; and brother, Donald. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Anders; children: Harold (Lori) Nicol, Doug (Karrie) Nelson, Andy (Cheryl) Nelson, Sheila Workman, Dawn (Rob) Rambo and Pam (Dennis) Jacobson; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Per Joy’s request her body was donated to the University of Minnesota for research.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017  from 1-5:00pm at the Nelson house, 1746 308 Ave., Frederic, WI., 54837.
