Joseph Jensen

Joseph "Joe" Jensen, age 56, was known for his unending love for his family and friends. Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in his home in Dairyland, Wisconsin. Joe was born in Red Wing, Minnesota to Aloyed and Margaret Jensen on August 22, 1953. He and his family moved to Hastings, Minnesota where he spent the rest of his childhood. Joe graduated from Hastings High School in 1971, where he was elected class president by his classmates. After high school, Joe attended Dakota County Vocational Technical Institute where he received a degree in Parts Counterman and Sales in 1973. Joe worked for a few years then moved to California for a year. After California he moved to Australia for six months before moving back to Minnesota, where he started working at Tousley Ford. Joe met his wife Alvera through his co-worker Harley Sanders, who is also Alvera's brother. Joe and Vera dated for 5 years before they married on August 18, 1990. Joe and Vera lived in White Bear Lake for many years before moving to their vacation home in Dairlyand in 1999. Joe enjoyed many things and had many diverse interests. His most avid hobbies were building and riding motorcycles, playing music on his bass guitar, building musical equipment and muzzle loading. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Aloyed Jensen. He is survived by his wife, Alvera; his children Diana (Steve) Peters, Debra (Adam) Pavlicek, Daniel (Nicole) Sear, Dawn (Matthew) Haas; his grandchildren Bradley and Elizabeth; his great granddaughter Tori; his mother, Margaret; his brother Dan (Carolyn) Jensen; sister JoAnn (Dean) Knutson; his godsons Ben and Zach; his niece Karen and nephew Matt. Memorial services will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM with visitation from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Siren Covenant Church with Pastor David Guertin officiating.
