John Volker, Jr., age 88, a resident of Webster passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Kapes Lakeside Assisted Living in Siren.
John was born on November 25, 1930 in Clam Falls to parents, John and Beulah (Hunt) Volker.
John attended public school at Cumberland and Hertel until the 8 th grade when he was then needed on the family farm. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953.
John loved feeding the songbirds and hummingbirds. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and taking his dog, Mandy on 4-wheeler rides.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion; parents; brothers, Raymond and Rolland; sister, Irene; and beloved English cocker spaniel, Mandy.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Barb Randall and Beverly Lyles; brother, James Arthur Volker; his nephew, also known as “son” Andrew (Katie) Volker; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Siren with Pastor Jody Walter officiating. Interment will follow at Siren Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Evan Johnson, Dwight Glover, Andy Volker, William Volker, Gerald Volker and Jesse Volker.
