John “Earl” Murray, age 87, a resident of Webster and Nalcrest, FL passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his home in Nalcrest. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Webster with Father Michael Tupa as celebrant. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the church. Earl was born on January 13, 1923 in Chicopee, MA to James and Catherine Murray. Earl married Doreen Nelson on May 25, 1946. He served in the United States Navy serving as a Fleet Marine during World War II in the Pacific. He was employed for 33 years for the United States Postal Service, serving as postmaster for a number of years. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Doreen; his children John E. Murray, Michael P. Murray, Patrick S. Murray, Timothy R. Murray, and Thomas R. Murray, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, along with other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine; his son Joseph Murray in 1959; his sisters Margaret (Peggy) Meyer, Gertrude (Gert) Cancilla, and Josie (Jo) Coakley; and brother Harold Murray.
