John William Friedel, age 66, of Webster, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. John was born on December 12, 1949 in St. Clairsville, Ohio to parents Virginia (Lynch) and John Friedel. John was united in marriage to Elinor Klein on September 24, 1981 in Charleston, South Carolina. John (or “J” as we all knew him) loved motorcycling and was a member of the H.O.G., Harley Owners Group. He was also an avid car enthusiast. He had a passion for photography, especially for “his deer”. Nascar and football were his favorite sports. One of his favorite pastimes was simply socializing over a few drinks with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and friend. Preceding John in death are his parents. John is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Elinor; children, Robin (Chuck) Schultz and Ken (Carol) Klein; grandchildren: Joshua Deweese, Adam Klein, Hannah Klein, Lyn Moser, Casey Christianson and Sydni Schultz; great-grandchildren: Kayden, Matt, Faith, Kanaan, Brach, Justus and Fletcher; and many other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 3:00pm (visitation from 2:00pm – 3:00pm) at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Siren with Pastor Greg Lund officiating. Pallbearers are Ken Klein, Chuck Schultz, Clark Jewell, Chad Simpson, Kanaan Christianson and Brach Christianson.
