Jerry Wilson

Jerry L. Wilson, age 69, a resident of Siren, WI passed away March 14, 2011 at his home. Jerry was born on July 26, 1941 in Charles City, Iowa to Glenn and Arlene (Barrett) Wilson. He was a 1960 graduate from Charles City High School. He worked at White Farm Equipment for many years before retiring in 1973 due to an automobile accident. On July 19, 1969 he married Elaine Koehler of Charles City at the West St. Charles United Methodist Church in rural Charles City. Jerry was a previous member of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church and an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Webster, WI. He filled many duties at church including trustee, and helped when the funeral committees served. He was also a member of the Webster Lions. Jerry was a caring person who loved being with his family and enjoyed his visits from all 4 of his granddaughters. He enjoyed the thirteen years he lived in Siren at his lake home. He took pride in his lawn as it was always top priority and very well cared for. Jerry enjoyed feeding the birds and liked to fish on his friend's private lake. He was able to get out and experience deer hunting one year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Jerry was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends on Monday mornings. He had taken cruise ship trips with his family and friends which he thoroughly enjoyed. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Betty. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elaine of Siren, WI; daughter Wendy (Matt) Ross of Charles City, IA; 4 granddaughters Erica (Andrew) Lydolph of Stockport, IA, Danielle (Josh Hillegas, fiance) Ross of Charles City, IA, Sam Ross and Sydney Ross of Charles City; three great grandchildren Brendyn and Haylay Lydolph and Kaitlyn Ross; brother Robert (Frances) Wilson; and brother-in-law Arvin Tibbitts. Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, 2011; 5-7 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster. A visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2011 from 5-8 PM at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Van Wert officiating. Music will be provided by Karen Thomas and Jeannine Mills. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. Casketbearers will be Bill Koehler, Andrew Lydolph, Josh Hillegas, Eric Koehler, Troy Koehler and Jamey Koehler.
