Jerry Gobel

November 3, 1943 — January 12, 2023

Jerry Gobel was born to Esther and Stafford Gobel on November 3, 1943 in Litchfield, MN. He grew up on a farm with his parents and two sisters Ionne and Shelby. His family later moved to Excelsior, MN. Jerry was destined for a life full of love, adventure, and success. Jerry dearly loved his friends and family. His life is a testament to the many people who cherished him. In addition to being generous and charismatic, Jerry was a trusted advisor to many people. He was a hard worker with a sharp business mind. Throughout his life he was successful with an array of business endeavors. Jerry also shared his wisdom and facilitated opportunities for many other people to become successful. He was admired and respected for his efforts and abilities although Jerry’s big heart was always his best asset.

Jerry married Diane, the love of his life. They were soon approaching 42 years of marriage. As a couple and as parents they were the prime example of how to love and enjoy all things in life together. Most recently on a cruise when participating in a game show they were deemed to be “The Perfect Couple”. They have four children who adore them: Tamra Quintiliani (Tony), Bryan Gobel (Lisa), Lance Mead, and Lori Wahlberg (Russ). Jerry will be remembered by his sister and brother-in-law, Ionne and Bob Housman. They are not only family, but best friends and partners in many things. Jerry is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great friends who loved spending time with him.

Jerry enjoyed lasting friendships from high school and his time spent living in Minnesota and Texas. Jerry was especially fond of his community in the Northwoods of Wisconsin where he has lived for many years. He loved the lake and the land for all the fun activities he could enjoy with others. Jerry genuinely enjoyed his wonderful friends and the great local venues of his close-knit community. He was also a strong supporter for service to his beloved community. He was feeling his best when people joined him to listen to music, have a drink, eat a meal together, or even better, play cards during a visit to his home where everyone was always welcome.

Jerry lived his life to the fullest and he passed away without any regrets. He will be missed very much by so many people. Jerry wanted a celebration of life, and this will be honored on Saturday, May 27 from 3-7 pm at the Gobel’s residence.
