Jerry A. Barker, age 58, a resident of Siren died August 2, 2014. Jerry was born on October 13, 1955 in Minneapolis to Leonard and Adeline (Olson) Barker. He worked 17 years as a warehouseman at Ziegler Caterpillar in Bloomington. He was a member of the Siren VFW and the Grantsburg Legion. In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother Ervin, and a sister Anna. He is survived by his best friend and companion of 20 years, Karen; daughters Heidi Lindenfelser and Angie (Perry) Travis; grandchildren Kaylee, Austen, Brice, T.J., Alyssa, Ariana, and Brooklynn; great granddaughter Denly, and two more on the way; siblings Betty (Paul), Janice, James (Nita), Beverly, and Deborah. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM (visitation 1-2 PM ) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, with Pastor Ken Sohriakoff officiating. Music will be provided by Nancy Daniels, Stacy Parks, Marissa Parks and Myleen Parks. Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
