Jeffrey Clark Anderson, age 57, passed away May 19, 2015, at his home near Grantsburg, Wisconsin, as a result of diabetes complications. Jeff was born on August 15, 1957, in Mankato, Minnesota, as the second of three children of Rosalie and Grant Anderson. He was captain of the Mankato East High School football and tennis teams, named as an outstanding athlete his senior year and later inducted into the Mankato East Hall of Fame. He graduated from Mankato East in 1975 and Gustavus Adolphus College in 1980 with a degree in speech. He was on the tennis and football teams at Gustavus. He remained an active athlete right up to his death, enjoying tennis, golf and biking. Jeff was an entrepreneur, working mostly in the sales, marketing and premium fields over the course of his 35 year business career. His most recent employment was as a territory manager with Sudenga Industries, Inc. He was a member of Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church where he also served on the church council. His hobbies included anything and everything associated with the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and simply spending time at his home on Wood Lake in the Grantsburg area. Jeff excelled at woodworking and construction projects of all kinds. He was a self-taught and remarkably gifted carpenter and mechanic. Finally, and most importantly, he loved spending time with his children, extended family and friends. Jeff was married to Susan Meyer Anderson from 1980 to 2014. He was the proud father of Megan, John and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Rosalie Anderson, and a half-brother, Dennis Kretchmer. He is survived by Susan Anderson, their children Megan (Joseph) Beatty, John Anderson and Kelsey Anderson, and his grandson, Ryan Jeffrey Beatty. He is also survived by his brother Barry (Louise) Anderson and sister Mona (Paul) Gerike and many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a visitation on Friday evening at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services will also be held at Lake Nokomis, 5011 S. 31st Ave., Minneapolis, on Saturday, May 23 at 11 am with visitation the hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Second Shot (www.getsecondshot.com), a non-profit organization established by his daughter Kelsey and Reid Wilson to help those with physical disabilities enjoy pheasant hunting and fishing, or the Big Wood Lake Association (www.bigwoodlake.org).
