James Ned Trigg, husband, father, mentor, leader and hero went to be with our Lord & Savior at his home on Tuesday, October 19th after a long illness. Jim was born in rural Knox, Indiana on March 7, 1935, the son of William S. and Anna Louise Borchardt-Trigg. He graduated from Knox High School and completed 2 years at Indiana University. He worked for Standard Oil Co., managed the Hedde Ready Mix Plant, was a sales representative for Maibens Laundry and Refuse Co. Most recently, Jim operated the greenhouse at Timberland Gifts and Goods in Siren, Wisconsin and retired in 2001 from the Farmers Exchange Insurance Service. He enjoyed nature and was an avid bird watcher. Passionate about American History, he was writing a book about Miami Indians at the time of his death. He was trustee of Allen Township in Miami County for 9 years, was a member of the Miami County 4-H Council for 10 years, was a Troop 1 Scout Master in Peru, Indiana for 3 years, served on the Olive Branch Church of God Board, and was on the North Miami School Board in Denver, Indiana for several years. In his free time Jim took time to travel. In 1956, Jim married Joann Marlene Taylor who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Judith Radel-Trigg; his children Cindy (Tony) Bartlett; Susan Trigg; Jamie (Karen) Trigg; Jon (Melodie) Trigg; and Sandy (Marcus) Strawhorn; his brother Robert (Gerry) Trigg; and sister Rosie Eichelberg; step children Jeb (Dawn) Radel; Chad (Sue) Radel; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Olive Branch Church of God in Roann, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or local children's charity. Local arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
