James Lewis

James William Lewis , age 85, of Scott Twp., passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017. James was born April 17, 1932 in Plum City, WI.  He worked for the Operating Engineers Union as a foreman for many years.  Many of the road signs in Wisconsin and Minnesota are somehow tied to Jim’s career.  When not working, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing with family. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; Loren C. and Rhene Lewis; sister, Patricia Robole; and son, Jeffrey Lewis.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Darlene; son, Jason (Amber) Lewis; brothers: John (Joan) Lewis, Loren M. (Jo) Lewis, David (Carol) Lewis; sister, Mary Jo Bjork (Brad); and grandchildren, Carter and Alysse. A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm (visitation 1:00 to 2:00 pm), Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Lakeside Community Lutheran Church, 28626 County Rd H in Scott Twp, with Pastor Bill Schroeder officiating.  Jim’s family is being assisted by Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Webster, WI.
