James Joseph “Jim” Johnson, Sr., age 70, of Webster, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014. Jim was born June 11, 1943, a son of the late Hans and Janey (Spencer) Johnson. He grew up in Bagley, Minnesota, and moved to Burnett County in 1969. Jim was a well known lumberjack. He initially worked at Penta Wood Products. He was then employed for many years as a Rite of Way Clearing Contractor by Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative. He was also employed by Swedberg Funeral Home to dig graves at local cemeteries. For the past 8 years Jim spent his winters in Missouri. He drove his motor home there, built and improved his garage and house, and then in the spring drove his motor home back to Burnett County. Jim loved to watch NASCAR racing, and was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He enjoyed spending time with Ernie, his beloved Rottweiler, and riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Surviving are a son, James J. “Jamie” Johnson, Jr.; a daughter, Angela Johnson; three granddaughters: Chelsea Johnson, Ashley Johnson, and Brittney Johnson; a sister, Helen (Richard) Rude; brother-in-law, Ellis Adair; nieces and nephews; and Ernie, his Rottweiler. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Clifford Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Roger Johnson; and a sister, Elaine Adair. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for James J. “Jim” Johnson, Sr. at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at town of Jackson Cemetery on Alden Road, south of County Rd A.
