James Joseph “Lum” DeLong, age 79, of Siren, passed away Thursday morning, March 27, 2014. Lum was born May 27, 1934 in Elmwood, WI, son of the late Joseph and Lulabelle (Bundy) DeLong. He married Jeannene E. Orner on September 27, 1959 in Clear Lake. Lum was raised in the Methodist faith and had attended Lutheran services with Jeannene. He was employed at Armour Company in the meat packing plant for over many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and doing yard work. Surviving are his wife, Jeannene; a sister, Elaine (Ron) Jensen; a brother, Kenneth (Doris) DeLong; many nieces and nephews; and members of his wife’s extended family. A memorial service for Jimmy “Lum” DeLong will be conducted at Bethany Lutheran Church in Siren, Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00am (visitation 10-11) with Pastor Paul Peterson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Burnett County, or Burnett County Literacy Council.
