Jake William Holmes, age 25, of Danbury, was taken from this life on his journey back to the creator on April 25, 2016. Jake was born on November 15, 1990 in St. Croix Falls, WI to parents, Kay Kettula and William Holmes. Jake was a 2009 graduate from the Webster School District. Jake was an avid outdoorsman, gatherer and hunter. He was always such a good kid who was laid back and easy going. Jake grew into a fine young man who was polite and respectful to others. He loved his job at the casino as an “Iron Chef”, where he helped run the buffet. He was a friend to anyone that needed one and his smile was contagious. Jake grew up next to the St. Croix River and he enjoyed all of the activities the river provided. He loved being out in nature and often crafted things out of wood and stone. He was truly one-of-a-kind and he will be greatly missed by everyone he touched in his short time here. We don’t truly understand why he was taken away from us but we hope he knows how much we love him and always will. Preceding Jake in death are his mother, Kay Kettula; grandmother, Ruby Kettula; grandpa, Joe Holmes; uncle, John Holmes; and cousin, George Holmes. He is survived by his father, William Holmes; sister, Amber Kettula; niece, Samantha; nephew, Riley; brother, Gage Holmes; girlfriend, Katie Sperling; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call after 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Danbury Tribal Hall. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 starting at 11:00 am at the Danbury Tribal Hall.
