Irene Wagner

Irene Rose Wagner, age 88 of Shell Lake passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Irene was born on July 29, 1926 to Oscar and Melda (Purchatzke) Marquardt in Oshkosh. Irene married William Wagner on October 16, 1948. She attended Oshkosh State Teachers College and earned her Bachelor's Degree in secondary education, then went for her Masters in Elementary Education. Irene worked at the Milwaukee Schools as a teacher from 1954-1982. Irene was one of the first members of the Lakeside Community Lutheran Church and was a member from 1982- present. Irene also was a square and round dancing member for 18 years, and enjoyed the painting of original sweatshirts. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015, 11am (Visitation form 10-11am)at Lakeside Community Lutheran Church, in Webster, Wisconsin. Pastor Bill Schroeder will be officiating. A graveside service will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin, 2pm. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
