Ione Schwartz

Ione Helen Schwartz , age 80, of Webb Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at her residence, with family by her side. Ione was born on July 1, 1936 in Melrose, Minnesota to parents, Bernadette (Schneider) and John Dirkhissing and she was their only child.   On August 20, 1955, Ione was united in marriage to Valerian “Val” Schwartz in Melrose at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They settled in Edina, Minnesota and lived there twenty years. In 1975, the family moved to the Burnett County area. Ione was an impeccable home maker and spent countless hours cooking and canning. She was an avid reader and she loved cats and hummingbirds. In her younger years she enjoyed skiing and playing golf.  Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family. Ione was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed everyday by those who love her. Ione is preceded in death by her parents. Ione is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Val; children, Kathleen Schwartz, Timothy Schwartz and Daniel (Wendy) Schwartz; grandchildren: Angela, Samantha (Mike), Katie, Justin, Jadin, Benjamin and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Larry, Kennedy and Mason; sister-in-law, Beverly (Kenneth) Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
