Hazel “Annie” Fuller, age 94, formerly of Webb Lake Twp., WI, passed away at Amery Regional Medical Center, Saturday, November 8, 2014. Annie was born May 13, 1920, to Frank and Hazel (Tindall) Severt in Trivoli, Illinois. When Annie was age 2, her mother died, and she and her infant brother were adopted and reared by their maternal grandparents, George and Annie (Craycraft) Tindall, on the Tindall farm. She married Howard E. Fuller, from a neighboring farm, on May 21, 1938. They had 3 children, Howard “Blake”, Carolyn, and Norma Kay. After farming in the Glasford area for a short time, they moved to Danbury, WI and purchased property on Deer Lake in Webb Lake township, Burnett Co., where they built Fuller’s Deer Lake Resort. After about 10 years, they began spending the winters working in Glasford and operating their resort at the lake during the summers. During those winters, she was employed as a check-out at various grocery stores in area's larger towns. Annie was a true pioneer woman, living in the wilderness far from modern conveniences, where she worked alongside her husband building the log cabins, trapping, hunting, and fishing. During her lifetime, she was treasurer/clerk for the town of Webb Lake, and after retirement, they moved to a hobby farm a little farther north where she enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and participating in the Senior Citizens group. She also was a volunteer driver taking seniors to physicians’ appointments, for which she received certificates of commendation each year for thousands of miles of driving. During retirement, she and Howard travelled out west with friends to hunt a few times, as well as taking trips to Alaska, California, and Montana for pleasure and to visit relatives. After Howard died, she continued to live alone until health issues forced her to sell her country home, and move in with her daughter, Carolyn, in Amery, WI, where she has lived for the past two years. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Howard; son, Blake; daughter, Norma Kay Durand, granddaughter, Debora Fuller, and son-in-law, Edward Ross. Surviving are daughter, Carolyn Ross; daughter-in-law, Roseanne Fuller; son-in-law, Donald Durand; grandchildren: James Fuller, Terry Fuller, Christine Holcomb, Dana (Connie) Durand, Tamarah (Andy) Atkinson, Braden Durand, Roxanne “Bobbie” Lundsten, Melissa Michniewicz, Trevor Durand, Nikki Durand, Mike (LeeAnn) Ross, and Rebecca (Darcy) Lorsung; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; plus other family and many, many friends.
