Harold “Butch” A. DuBois , age 81, of Voyager Village, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Shell Lake Nursing Center. Butch was born on August 15, 1935 in Winona, MN., to parents, Dorothy (Wahl) and Harlow DuBois. Butch enlisted in the United States Army on November 2, 1954 and was honorably discharged on October 18, 1957. On June 25, 1988, Butch married Lynda Rydstrand in Richfield, MN. Butch enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and the many years spent camping at Mallard Lake. He was known as the neighborhood “tool supplier” and also liked to spend his time woodworking. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and for his known ability to be a great storyteller. Preceding Butch in death are his parents; brother, Terry DuBois; and son-in-law, Gordy Mehrhoff. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lynda; children: Paula Mehrhoff, Cara (Bob) Zeien, Steven (Karen) DuBois, Patrick (Theresa) DuBois, Deanna (Jim) Zeien and Angie (Neil) Boltik; step-children: Tamara (Bill) Rouleau, Brett (Dawn) Rhoades, Thomas (Donna) Jones and Robert Jones; sister, Nancy Koenig; many grandchildren, great-great children and 1 great-great grandchild; his faithful furry companions, Isabella and Maxwell; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 1:30pm at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. The family would like to send special thanks to the Shell Lake Nursing Center for their compassionate and caring staff.
