Gregory L. Miller , age 70, of Lewis, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2018 at his home.
Greg was born on August 15, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN, to parents, Nancy Ellen (Sutliff) and Donald Carl Miller. He graduated from Frederic High School in 1965.
On December 16, 1966, Greg enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Vietnam War and on January 23, 1968, he was granted an honorable discharge.
During his school years, Greg farmed for Clint Noreen. After returning from the military, Greg worked for Lewis Silo and later at Northwestern Telephone Co. in Tomah, WI. Greg also farmed with Bob Carlson at the “Karl Family Farm” in Lewis.
Greg enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and spending time in his garden. Greg also loved to cook, especially his infamous spaghetti. He liked sports, watching racing, gambling and being a member of the Northwoods Marine Corps League. Above all else, Greg loved spending time with his family and attending his grandkid’s games.
Preceding Greg in death are his parents; parents-in-law, Raymond and Lucille Harvey; brothers-in-law, Frank and Patrick Harvey.
Greg is survived by his devoted soul mate of 38 years, Cindy Vilstrup; children, Gregory (Cheryl) Miller Jr., Jodi Miller and Kelly DeMoe (Mark); grandchildren: Crystal Miller, Cameron Miller, Emily DeMoe, Morgan DeMoe, Riley DeMoe, and Jackson DeMoe; great-grandchildren, Brody Miller; siblings: Cindy White, Jeff Miller, Jill (Ernest) Luster, Kay (Galen) Daniels and Kim Miller; siblings-in-law: Dorothy (Bob) Hinkel, Kathy (Dick) Bohn, Mark (Kim) Harvey; 1 beloved black lab, Beavus; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 beginning at 11:00am at Greg and Cindy’s House in Lewis.
