Gordy (Francis) Peschong , age 93, of Markville, MN, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2019.
Gordy was born on September 30, 1926, in Milbank, SD, to parents, Francis (Wagner) and Anthony Peschong. Gordy was drafted into the United States Army and served during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he attended Dunwoody Technical College.
On July 21, 1947, Gordy was united in marriage to Myrtle Weller.
Gordy worked for the Minneapolis Park Board for 29 years. He also worked for Skylane Bowling in South Minneapolis. He then retired up to the Markville area.
Gordy was a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, go camping split wood and feed his deer. He also enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his beloved dog, Pedro.
Preceding him in death are his parents; infant son, Darryl; children, Daniel Peschong and Lynn Peschong; and brothers, Kenneth (Emma) Peschong and Darwin Peschong.
Gordy is survived by his wife, Myrtle; children: Donald Peschong, David (Sharon) Peschong, Dennis (Paula) Peschong, Darwin Peschong, Duane Peschong, Douglas (Nancy) Peschong, Pam (Chuck) Peters, Richard Peschong and Darrick Sweats (Brittany); 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, John (Jean) Peschong; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering to honor Gordy and Myrtle will be held on November 11, 2019 beginning at 1:00pm at the Fishbowl Bar in Danbury.
