Gordon G. Wellman, beloved father, grandpa and brother, age 65 of Webster, Wisconsin, died peacefully on March 4, 2015, at the VA hospital in Minneapolis Minnesota. Gordy was born on January 21, 1950 in St. Paul, MN, a son of the late Milton and Linda (Nielsen) Wellman. He graduated from South Saint Paul High School, and later joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Entering on Nov 24, 1970, he was primarily assigned to Artillery Weapons and Vehicle Repair with the 1st Field Artillery Group, FMF Pacific, 29 Palms, California. He achieved the rank of corporal and was honorably discharged from active duty on September 1, 1972. Gordy married Lynnette Dockham and raised his family in Saint Paul Park, Minnesota, where he also owned and operated Wellman Trucking. After divorcing, he moved to Webster, WI, and worked for the township of Siren. Gordy had a love for classic automobiles and motorcycles. He loved to fix, ride and collect them. He was a member of the Spokesman MC based in South Saint Paul. Gordy was a loving father and friend who loved to tell jokes and funny stories to all he knew. He will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Janice Wellman. Surviving are children: Marissa Wellman, Jessica Mann, Nicole Johnson (Aaron Johnson), and Andrew Wellman; grandchildren: Logan Mann, Janie Mann and Ellie Johnson; and a sister Tracy Jo. Gordy’s memorial service was held last week in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. Burial of his cremated remains with full military honors will be held at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Karlsborg Cemetery, Webster WI. All are welcome to attend.
