Gerald “Jerry” N. Videen, age 76, a resident of Danbury passed away September 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born February 27, 1938 in Lykens Wisconsin to Walter and Ruth Videen. He attended grade school in Laketown and high school in Luck school district. At age seventeen, he went to work for Duncan Yo-yo as a demonstrator which involved travelling to Europe and throughout the United States. On December 10th of 1958, Jerry married the love of his life, Audrey Lindroth, and they travelled together for several years as their family grew. In 1971, Jerry's family moved to Osceola where he started Videen Oil Company and worked as a standard oil jobber for many years until he retired. Weekends were spent with a dear group of friends at High Haven campground. After retirement, Jerry and Audrey moved to Danbury where he has lived for the past 13 years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, camping and playing cribbage with his best buddy Arnie Holcomb. He had a tremendous sense of humor and was known for his quick wit. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey; brothers Gilmore and Harold; and special brother-in-law Ray Stoklasa. He is survived by his children Revey Videen, Jody (Wendy) Videen, Leslie (Rod )Peterson; grandchildren: Tyler Bestland, Abby Videen, Matthew Videen, Amanda Bestland, Emmy Videen, Nick Videen, Katie Bestland, Josh Videen, and Gracie Peterson and great -grandson Carson Bestland. Also survived by his sisters Ruby Stoklasa and Lavone Kemis; brother Phil Videen. Memorial service will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 12:00 PM (visitation 10-12) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster with Pastor Mel Rau officiating.
