Gerald Songas

Gerald R. Songas "Jerry" of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his home with loved ones by his side on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Jerry was born on February 26, 1953 in Naha, Okinawa. He married his wife and best friend, Kathleen, on September 13, 1975 in Grand Forks, ND. From that day forward, their undeniable devotion to each other would continue to grow over their 41 years together. Jerry studied at Aakers Business College and the University of Minnesota and pursued a career in retail management and customer service. Jerry was admired greatly and will be remembered fondly for his unmatchable quick wit, the ability to fill a room with laughter, and his amazing cheesecakes. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children: Lindsey Denn and Nicholas; grandchildren: Gavin Neuman and Anthony Denn Jr.; father: John; siblings: Brian, Rachel Hintz (Dave), John (Nicci). Preceded in death by his mother, Kiyoko; grandparents: Gust and Bette. A special thank you to the staff at Burnett Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to Jerry and his family.
