George Louis Emerson, age 76 of Webster died February 26, 2013. George was born March 19, 1936 to Charles and Gladys Emerson in Marshfield Wisconsin. George worked as a machinist for McNally Industries in Grantsburg, Wisconsin and proudly retired from the US Navy as a member of the Seabees. He was also a member of the Burnett County VFW Post 1256. George loved the Green Bay Packers and his dog Maggie and grand-dog Sadie; he also enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, horseshoes, and spending time at the cabin. George was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; sister Delores; and brothers-in-law Ray and Hank. He is survived by his sons Mark and Craig; grandson Brandon; his sister Charlotte Nelson; along with other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Webster. The pallbearers will be Bill Thomey, Phil Bower, Ozzie Osmonson, Darwin Switzer, Russell Peterson, Craig Emerson and Brandon Emerson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for replanting of trees at the cabin in George’s memory. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster.
