Gene D. Peterson, age 85, a resident of Siren passed away on November 15, 2020.
Gene was born on April 13, 1935 in Roseau, Minnesota to Carl G. and Eva M. Peterson.
Gene served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He and LaVonne were married in Siren on June 6, 1959.
He and his wife, LaVonne owned and operated the Lucky Strike Resort on Devils Lake from 1969-1988. They enjoyed serving meals and sharing stories with snowmobilers and ice fisherman from all over.
Often times you would find both Gene and LaVonne at the Pheasant cheering on their teams, Packers and Twins.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVonne and sister, Audrey Fahland.
Gene is survived by his sons, Kris and Carl; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 3 great step grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Webster. Following the church service, friends and family are welcome to continue to Celebrate Gene's Life at the Pheasant Inn with food and beverage.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
