Gary Hooverson

June 15, 1949 — April 29, 2024

Gary Ray Hooverson, age 74, a resident of Frederic, WI., passed away at home on April 29, 2024 with his loved ones by his side.

Gary was born on June 15, 1949 in Richland Center, WI., to parents Marvin and Goldie Hooverson. He grew up in southern WI. Gary attended Delevan Darien WI High School. After graduating high school Gary joined the Armed Forces in 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1972.

On August 12, 1972 Gary married the love of his life Debra Goff. Together they raised their family in Clinton, WI. Gary worked at General Motors until he retired in 2009. In July of 2009 they moved to northern WI.

In Garys free time he enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He acquired the nickname “Lawn Cop”. He loved his grass to be neat and tidy. He was a die-hard Packer fan, and you could find him in front of the TV any time the Packers were playing. In the mornings you could find him sitting on the deck drinking coffee while watching the birds, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Schultz; infant brothers, Rodney and Steven; sister-in-law, Kathy Hooverson and many more loved ones.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Debra; children, Jacquelyn (Darrell) Drummer and Christopher Hooverson; grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Jacob, Andrea, Justin, Matthew and Jenna; great grandchild, Kolton; brothers, Larry, Robert “Bob” and Roger (Debra) Hooverson; along with other family members and many friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
