Frederick Olson

Frederick Olaf Olson, age 80, a resident of Webster, WI passed away at home on November 1, 2022 with his loved ones by his side.

Frederick was born on February 3, 1942 in Chippewa Falls, WI to parents Stanley and Galdys (Gaard) Olson. He was raised in Colfax, WI with 5 older brothers. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Army in October of 1960 where he served in an engineering unit, until his honorable discharge in 1962.

Frederick married Linda Loiselle and they moved to Anoka, MN where they raised their 2 sons, Troy and Todd.

Frederick lived many places throughout his life, Colfax, Minneapolis, Anoka, Ramsey, Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, but the place he felt most at home was at his lake cabin in Webster. He spent the better part of 40 years enjoying what he built.

Frederick worked at the same location for 42 years even though the company changed owners four times during his time there. He started in 1962 and retired in 2006. It is said that he knew how to run every machine in the factory and could always be counted on to work extra hours whenever it was needed.

Frederick loved the outdoors. He loved to go fishing and hunting. Frederick loved to work and enjoyed doing construction and wood working projects.

Frederick is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Todd Olson.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Troy (Donna) Olson; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster. Interment with Military honors will take place at 2:00 pm at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
