Fred W. Haaf, age 87, a resident of Webster died January 8, 2011 at Burnett Medical Center. Fred was born on August 30, 1923 in Oakland Township to John and Elsie Haaf. Fred served in the US Army during World War II as a Private First Class. Fred worked for Burnett County Highway Department for over 21 years. At one time Fred was active with the Webster Fire Department. He was a member of the Otis Taylor American Legion Post 96 and the Disabled DAV. Fred was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved his wife, Louise and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; parents; his brothers, Clifford, Kenny, Adolph, Harold, Leonard, Art; and sisters Lucille, Pauline, Elsie; step-brothers Herman and Robert. Fred is survived by his children Duane (Kate) Haaf, and Sherry (Lauren) Herrick; grandchildren Dean and Doug; his siblings Ida (LaVonne) Gates, Violet Klingenburg; along with other relatives and friends. A visitation/time of gathering will held Friday, January 14, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home with military honors provided by the Army National Guard and the Spooner Honor Guard.
