Frances “Fanny” Nordquist England, 97, passed away peacefully at the Christian Community Home of Osceola, Wisconsin on November 15, 2020. She was born to Victor and Hulda Nordquist in Siren, Wisconsin on September 18, 1923. She was baptized and was a life long member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She attended and graduated from the Siren school system.
Fanny and Raymond “Moe” England were united in marriage on January 3,1942. They raised 5 children, and started their business, Moe’s Bait and Tackle in Siren. Fanny enjoyed her customers and many knew her as Mrs. Moe.
In addition to raising a family, Fanny was active in the local VFW Post 1256, Women’s Auxiliary. Fanny was an avid gardener and would not tolerate the errant weed. She was known for her delicious baked goods. She was a hunter’s wife and mother, so on opening day she was the first one up and always had a big breakfast ready for her hunters. Fanny enjoyed having family and friends drop by to chat. Her kitchen table was a loving place to enjoy her baked treats, sit and visit or play a boisterous game of Yahtzee with her grandchildren. Fanny loved to read and crochet, making many intricate and beautiful creations. She was proud of her Swedish heritage which often included lutefisk at family Christmas gatherings.
Fanny was preceded in death by her husband Moe; parents; 3 brothers, and 5 sisters,
She is survived by sons, Tom (Betsy), Jim (Debbie) and Steve (Theresa); daughters Dianne (Vernon Strand) and Cindy; grandchildren, Kari, Justin, Dave, Melissa, Victor, Stephanie, Brittany, and Brandon; and many beloved great-grandchildren; Brother-in-law Roy Fahland and Sister-in-law Lida Nordquist; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at Christian Community Home of Osceola for all their attention and Care.
