Ernest Honts

Ernest W. Honts, age 83, a resident of Shell Lake died April 4, 2017. He was born July 16, 1933 in Swiss Township to the late, Robert W. and Rosa “Fern” (Burlingame) Honts. Ernest served in the United States Navy as a Construction Battalion following the Korean Conflict, honorably discharged in 1961. He worked at Tel-Tec Company as a Lineman Supervisor in Oshkosh for over 15 years. Ernest loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just being in the woods. He was a member of the NRA. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Albert. He is survived by his son, Robert (Sue Nordgren) Honts; sister, Caroline (Warren) Welch; along with other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held for Ernest on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:00 PM (visitation 12-1 PM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at 2:15 PM with full military honors. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
