Eleanor Lucille Pottie passed away at the age of 98 on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Comforts of Home, Frederic, Wisconsin. Eleanor was born in Hampshire, Illinois and is a graduate of Marengo High School. Her parents were Loren and Mary Eisler Pate. She married John Pottie in 1938 in Hampshire. They farmed in Union and Plano before moving to McHenry, Illinois. In 1954 John and Eleanor bought their own dairy farm in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Eleanor loved to paint in water color and often showed her work at local art shows. She also enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and decorating ceramic ware. Eleanor moved to Siren, Wisconsin after John passed away in 1998. She moved to Webster, Wisconsin after the Siren tornado destroyed her home. She returned to Siren for a time and then moved into Comforts of Home, an assisted living facility. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sister Ruth Hunter of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; her daughter Mary Anne Hable and husband Warren of Siren, Wisconsin; son John and wife Venessa of Platte City, Missouri; one grandson; four granddaughters and two great granddaughters. A funeral service will be held at the Steinke Funeral Home, Lake Geneva on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM with a visitation prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Hampshire Center Cemetery, Hampshire, Illinois. Local arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
