Eleanor Blanchette

Eleanor Jackman Blanchette, age 90, of Danbury, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was born February 4, 1924 in Hudson, WI, a daughter of the late Edward and Minerva (Phernetton) Jackman. Eleanor married Floyd Blanchette on December 14, 1954 at The Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa. Floyd passed away January 22, 2008. Eleanor loved being with her family and her friends. She liked traveling in the upper Midwest and adjacent Canadian area, and sitting on the porch with Floyd. She also enjoyed all types of crafts, including crocheting, going to Bingo and attending meat raffles. Surviving are her 5 children: John (Candace) Bettendorf, Steven Blanchette, Pamela Blanchette, Peggy (Guy) Felipe, and Lindell (Sandy) Blanchette; 12 grandchildren that includes special “daughter,” Starr (Mike) Ward; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; siblings: Hazel, Ruth, and Harold; and son-in-law, Richard. A memorial service honoring the life of Eleanor Blanchette will be conducted at 10:00 am, Monday, July 7, 2014, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, with Father Paul Feela officiating. A fellowship luncheon will follow at the Webb Lake Town Hall, 31000 Namekagon Trail (at intersection with State Route 77), Webb Lake, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
