Edward Haakinson
September 10, 1940 — January 5, 2021
Edward “Ed” D. Haakinson, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2021 after losing a long battle with Dementia.
Ed was born to parents; Skip and Shirley Haakinson on September 10, 1940 in St. Paul, MN.
Ed attended Monroe High School and joined the Navy. He was a long-time employee at Paper-Calmenson.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary Lou Larson.
He is survived by wife, Carol; daughter, Barb Haakinson Johnson; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Danielle and Tyler; sisters, Shirley Gerlach, Marge (Dave) Galles, Kathleen (William Stromberg) Reese; brothers, Donald (Fay), Daniel (Bonnie), and Mark; brother-in-law, George Larson; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be fondly missed by all.
The family is very grateful and would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Continuing Care Center – Burnett Medical Center and St. Croix Hospice for the care they gave Ed.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 12:00 pm (visitation 11:00 am – 12:00 pm) at Yellow Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Rebecca Ellenson Officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
