Edward Joseph Arbuckle, (Bizaanigiizhig) age 69, a resident of Webster died May 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. Edward was born on December 31, 1943 in Hayward to parents Jane and Fred Arbuckle. As a young man, Edward joined the US Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967. Edward worked for the St. Croix Tribal government as an accountant for ten years and was a Tribal Council Chairman for 2 years. He enjoyed his family, often watching and cheering on his nieces and nephews at their little league baseball games or watching them skate. Edward was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a great sense of humor. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Lydia Reynolds and brother William "Billy" Arbuckle. He will be deeply missed by his brother Fred (Billie) Arbuckle and his sister Sandra Churchill as well as many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the St. Croix Tribal Center in Hertel, Wisconsin and officiated by Clifford "Skip" Churchill. Interment followed at Sand Lake Cemetery in LaFollette Township. The casket bearers were Robert Rambo Jr., Jeff Nelson, Ted Nelson Jr., Donald M. Taylor, Frank Taylor and Mike Daniel. Honorary casket bearers were Leroy Nelson, Robert Nelson, Leonard "Babe" Butler, Ted Nelson Sr., Braton "Buzz" Churchill and Lawrence Reynolds. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster.
