Duane Edward Catt, age 77, of Webster, died on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer. Duane was born on February 20, 1939 to parents Anna (Norrish) and John “Jack” Catt in Durand, WI. Duane attended Eau Claire Sr. High School. Duane enlisted in the US Air Force on 1956. He was honorably discharged in 1962. Duane married and had four children, they divorced after 25 years. Duane graduated in 1966 from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a degree in Agriculture. He worked as a Loan Officer for the Clark County Farmers Home Administration in Neilsville, WI from 1966 to 1970. He then transferred to Ellsworth, WI as the Pierce County Supervisor. Duane had a career change in 1974, he purchased Yellow Lake Lodge Cabins, Bar and Campground which he owned until 1989. He then purchased a hobby farm as he has had farming in his blood since birth. He has always had a passion for animals, crop farming, gardening and canning. He married his best friend Virginia in 1999. Duane drove school bus for the Webster School District for 27 years and was a substitute teacher for 16 years. Duane was also a licensed pilot and loved to fly. Preceding Duane in death is his father, John “Jack” Catt; infant daughter, Denise Ilene Catt. Duane is survived by mother, Anna Cass; loving wife, Virginia Catt; son, Dean Catt (friend, Shelley Bradford); daughters, Debbie Jenson and Peggy Dufour; foster son, Mark (Tammy) Kuechenmeister; stepson, Danny Klitzke; stepdaughter, Tammy (Shawn) Hayes; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; half-brother, Jerry Cass; and 3 nieces. Duane will be dearly missed and always remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00am (visitation from 10:00am – 11:00am) at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster with Pastor Dan Proffit officiating. Full military honors will be held at the funeral home concluding the service. Interment will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner.
