Duane Bergman

Duane Marshall Bergman, age 81, of Webster, WI, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015. Duane was born in Prairie Farm, Barron County, Wisconsin, on October 20, 1933, to the late Fritz H. and Emma M. (Wallberg) Bergman. He raised his children in St. Paul, MN, and later moved to Somerset, St. Croix County, WI. A welder by trade, Duane retired from North Star Steel Company in 1993 and was a long time member of the United Steelworkers local union in Saint Paul. After retirement he moved to his home on Yellow Lake near Webster and enjoyed spending his winters in Mission, Texas. Duane is survived by two children, Gary (Jeanne) Bergman and Debbie (Dan) Nielsen, three grandchildren: Tim (Krista) Bergman, Dan Bergman (Krista Baum), and Adam Nielsen, along with one great granddaughter, Elsie Bergman. Also surviving, a brother, Floyd (Audrey) Bergman, two sisters, Marlene (Len) Underland and Doris (Loren) Anderson, as well as several nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Emma Bergman, brother, Bob Bergman and sister in-law, Virginia Bergman. The funeral service for Duane Bergman will be conducted at 10:30 am (visitation 9:30 am to 10:30 am), Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, WI, with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Karlsborg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Bergman, Tim Bergman, Dan Bergman and Dan Nielsen.
