Donald Gillum

Donald K. Gillum age 75, a resident of Webster, Wisconsin and Zephyrhills, Florida died peacefully on June 17, 2009 surrounded by the love of his family. Don was born on December 25th 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Norman and Fran. Don was a Navy career man, retiring after twenty years of serving his country. Don married Patricia Wilson on October 17, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Together they owned and operated Coldwell Banker Lakeside Realty for eighteen years. Don was active in the community participating in the Webster Lions Club, the Burnett County Board, the Union Township Board, the Masonic Lodge of Fredric, the Burnett county Historical Society, Whitetails and Ducks Unlimited Foundations. A cancer survivor and proud supporter of Relay for Life Devoted Patriot and an active member of the American Cancer Society. Don was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Fran, brothers Larry and Gene and his sister Suzy Minnick. Don is survived by his wife Pat, children Butch and his wife Nancy, Deb and her husband Steve Repasky, Duane and his wife Holly, his brother Gary and his wife Bennie and sister-in-law Judy Wilson. Don had seven Grandchildren, Jess and her husband Mike Erickson, Kim, Jamie, Becky, Lisa, Jennifer and Matt. He was lovingly known as Papa G to his Great Grandchildren Carson, Graham, Logan and Hayden, an uncle to 7, brother-in-law to 4. Donald was a soulmate to his wife, hero and teacher to his children, loving mentor to his grandchildren, beloved "Papa G" to his great grandchildren. Known for his quick wit and glowing smile. Donald was loved by all who were blessed to know him. Funeral services were held Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster with Pastor Diane Blahauvietz officiating. Interment followed at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Spooner where military honors were accorded by the State Honor Team. Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Gillum, Butch Gillum, Duane Gillum, Steve Repasky, Matt Gillum, and Greg Gillum. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home of Webster, Wisconsin.
