Donald (Don) A. Deering, Sr., age 76, a resident of Siren died November 21, 2008 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Don was born on September 29, 1932 in St. Paul to Frank and Lillian Deering. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing. He also enjoyed traveling to Branson with his wife Gerrie. Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Allen, son Frankie, and daughter Lisa Marie. Don is survived by his wife Gerrie, children Michele Deering, Robyn (Terry) Bjornstad, Donald (Debbie) Deering, Jr., and Randy (Jean) Deering, grandchildren Shaun, Jamie, Amber, Faith, Adam, Joshua, Danielle, Jennifer, Calli, Britany, Kaci, great grandchildren Chase and Chloe, brother Loren (Betty) Deering. Memorial services were held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Siren Chapel, with Pastor Carl Heidel officiating. Military honors were accorded by the State Honor Guard, Spooner Detachment. Interment will be at Fort Snelling Hational Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
