Donald “Donnie” A. Baker, age 61, a resident of Siren died January 24, 2009 at his home. Donnie was born August 29, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota to James J. and Marie Baker. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Donnie was a longstanding member of the bricklayers union. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James Baker, Jr. Donnie is survived by his son, Gregory (Gemma) Baker, brothers Gregory Baker, John (Linda) Baker, sister Marianne (Geri Harley) Baker, sisters-in-law Darlene Baker, Kathy Reidel, nieces and nephews Christopher & Jean, Patrick, David, Jim Baker III & Linda, Rosie & John, Julie and Allen, Lorraine & Mike, Louie and Carrie, Charlie and Shelly, aunts Iris and Ruth Kropelnicki and daughter Sharon Blazer, cousins Bruce and Carol Vanilli, Mary Fritz, Susan Reppe, former wife Jackie Mardikian. Memorial services were held Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Siren Chapel with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Military honors accorded by Spooner State Honor Guard and Burnett County VFW Post 1256. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home.
