Delores Sandberg

Delores Blanche Sandberg, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Burnett Medical Center at the age of 95 years, 6 months, 24 days.

She was born in Grantsburg, WI on May 21, 1926 to Abel and Mildred (Larson) Jotblad. Delores graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1944. After high school she worked in the Twin Cities for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company before moving back to Grantsburg. On January 31, 1948 she was united in marriage to Duane Sandberg. To this union were born four children, Ronald (deceased), Cynthia, Janice and Dean. While raising three children she went to work at Burnett County Highway Department as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1987.

She enjoyed writing letters and poetry, playing the piano and singing, collecting pretty dishes, and picking berries on Crex Meadows.

She is preceded in death by husband, Duane Sandberg; son, Ronald Dean Sandberg; parents, Abel and Mildred Jotblad; sister, Maxine Dye; brothers, Donald LaVerne Jotblad, Delmar Jotblad, Marlowe Jotblad, and Grant Jotblad; son-in-law, Joseph Zimmermann; sisters-in-law, Dolly Jotblad, Ruth Jotblad, Beverly Bue and Cora Sandberg; brothers-in-law, Marty Lissick, Merrill Paulson, Gene Bue, Dean Dahlberg, and Dale Sandberg.

She is survived by children, Cynthia Zimmermann, Janice Sandberg, Dean (Jane) Sandberg; grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Wilson, Michael (Sarah) Zimmermann, Krista (Jordan) Tirrel and Ronald Sandberg (Holly); great grandchildren, Joseph Zimmermann, Samuel Zimmermann, Rose Zimmermann; sister, Laurie Paulson; sisters-in-law, Norma Jotblad, Marlene Dahlberg; brother-in-law, Charley Dye; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Covenant in Alpha, WI (visitation 1:00 - 2:00 PM).
