Delight J. McKeag , age 82, of Grantsburg, passed away on October 27, 2019, after a brief battle with cancer, at the Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg.
Delight was born on November 25, 1936, in Grantsburg, to parents, Alva (Jacobson) and Wallace Wedin. She graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1954.
After graduation, Delight worked as a bookkeeper for First Bank of Grantsburg (now US Bank) in Grantsburg, until her retirement in 1991.
On June 27, 1959 Delight was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” McKeag at the West Sweden Lutheran Church in Frederic and together they raised three children.
Delight enjoyed being involved at Faith Lutheran Church in various activities. An avid quilter, knitter, and crocheter, Delight also enjoyed making doilies and afghans. She was a wonderful cook and baker, her famous treats will be missed by many. Above all else, Delight loved spending time with her children and grandsons.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and brothers: Curtis, Oris and Larry Wedin.
Delight is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dick McKeag; children: Bryan (Linda) McKeag, Denise (Ken) Trone and Wendell (Laura) McKeag; grandsons: Matt, Ben, David, and Andrew McKeag and Jason Trone; Brother Marlyn Wedin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 3:00pm (visitation from 1-3pm) at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to Regional Hospice or the Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center.
