David Volkmann

David Nicholas Volkmann, age 75, passed away on June 18, 2021 in Poinciana, Florida.

David was born on August 6, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Alexander and Manilla Volkmann.

David went to De La Salle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He lived in Minnesota until he moved to Grantsburg. He worked as a carpenter and later owned his own construction company, Volkmann Construction. He later went on and owed the Wood River Restaurant and the Grantsburg Hotel in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Later in life David moved to Florida and retired in Kissimmee, Florida.
David married the love of his life, Wilma on April 26, 2004 in Iquitos, Peru.
He loved to travel, go fishing, and dancing. He was a member of the pickleball club and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
David is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wilma; children, Allissa (Todd), Kim (Charlie), Kelli (Mike), Cintia (David), William (Sarah), Camilo; brothers Orville (Gertrude), Danny (Marcia); grandchildren, Carlee, Michael, Alex, Beau, Josie, Haley, Jason, Jaden, Jackson, Jace, Jude, Theo, Zack, Asha; 6 great grandchildren; nieces, Teresa, Carol, Jennifer, Karen, Jill, Janet Susan; nephews, Paul, Mathew, and John.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg, Wisconsin. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 28 at 11:00 AM (visitation at 10:00 AM) at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Frederic, Wisconsin.
