David Goranson

David Morris Goranson, age 76 years and 1 day, of Siren, WI, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015. Dave was born in Saint Paul, MN, on April 8, 1939, a son of the late Evart and Mary (Johnson) Goranson. He grew up in the St. Paul area and was a 1957 graduate of Johnson High School. He then attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis for two years. As a young adult, Dave was a truck driver in Saint Paul. He then became a tour bus driver associated with Holiday Travel Co. of Eau Claire, retiring in 2001. David was united in marriage to Joan M. Annen on June 3, 1969, in Webster, South Dakota. He received a great deal of self satisfaction raising pigs and caring for hogs. He also enjoyed time with their dog, Emma, who is a Schweenie. Dave had been an active member of Crosswalk Community Church (Evangelical Free Church of America) in Frederic. He was a past member of the church board and sang in the church choir for many years. He also regularly attended the Lewis United Methodist Church. Dave was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Burnett County Lodge, in Siren. He had held all the local offices, and was a past Lodge Governor. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Joan; four sons: David Goranson, Jr., Douglas Goranson (sig. other Lynda Steeber), Dwayne Goranson, and Daniel Goranson; five stepsons: Michael (Derris) Erickson, Paul Erickson, Todd (Nancy) Erickson, Kerry Erickson, and Scott Erickson; nineteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Dave is also survived by three brothers: Joel (Donna), Nathan (Pat), and Steve (Joyce) Goranson; as well as other relatives. The memorial service honoring the life of David Morris Goranson will be conducted on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 1:00 pm (visitation 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home - Siren Chapel with Pastor Gregory Lund officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Siren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Webster - Siren - Grantsburg.
