Darlene Erickson

Darlene Kathryn Erickson, age 89, a resident of Grantsburg, WI passed away on October 23, 2022 at the Burnett Medical Centre Continuing Care Center.

Darlene was born on May 15, 1933 in Ashland, WI to parents Franklin and Esther Ball.

Darlene married the love of her life, Claire Erickson on October 18, 1952 in Grantsburg, WI. On their honeymoon, the rode mules through the Grand Canyon to Phanton Ranch where they stayed for the duration of their honeymoon.

Darlene hosted Fishbowl Trail Ride for 25 years. She also volunteered for many organizations including Burnett Medical Center in the kitchen, Historical Society, Muscular Dystrophy Camp and Dollar for Scholars. She was a member and leader of the 4H Club and was also a member of the walking club.

In her free time, she loved to travel, knit, sew, quilting and taking pictures. She loved to spend time with her husband and her family. Darlene was a fantastic baker and was known for her specialty special K bars.

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, Claire; parents, Franklin and Esther; son, Steve; daughter, Pam; grandsons, Claire and Matthew; and son-in-law, Maurice.

She is survived by her children, Suzy Johnson and Ron (Janet) Erickson; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Connie Anderson and Betty Erickson; brother-in-law, Lawrence Anderson; along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM) at the Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg, WI with Pastor John Addison officiating. Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery with pallbearers Jason Johnson, Brandon Schmidt, Kenny Erickson, Clint Mielke, Carter Johnson, Trenton Johnson and Ashton Erickson.
