Dale Halverson

Dale Curtis Halverson, age 83, a resident of Grantsburg, WI passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Dale was born on December 4, 1938 in Grantsburg, WI to Marjorie Halvorson, and immediately adopted and raised by Myrtle Halverson.

Dale married the love of his life, Linda Welch on October 22, 1966 in Hopkins, MN.

Dale was the Wood River town board supervisor for many years. In Dales free time he enjoyed gardening, playing golf with friends, fishing and deer hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dale is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Cheryl (Travis) Smith and Karen (Chandler Heath) Staggert; grandchildren, Marissa (Zachary) Pate, Zachary (Ashley DeNomme) Smith, Abigail Staggert, Benjamin (Larrisa Devich-Reinke) Staggert and Morgan Smith; great grandchildren, Fitz and Julian; along with other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM (visitation 1-2 PM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg with Pastor John Addison officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Staggert, Travis Smith, Chandler Heath, Zachary Pate, Zachary Smith, Douglas Segelstrom, Dennis Segelstrom and Forrest Jammer. A luncheon will be held at the Halverson household, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Golden Gopher Fund (goldengopherfund.com), Friends of the Boundary Waters (friends-bwca.org/donate) or the Frederic office of St. Croix Hospice.
