Cynthia “Cindy” Anne Blaker (Howland), age 70, of Siren, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Cindy was born on December 13, 1946. She graduated in 1964 from John Marshall High School in S.E. Minneapolis, MN. Cindy was a single mother of three daughters, Natalie, Neela and Naomi, all while attending college and later working full time. She was employed for 10 years at various nursing home facilities as an occupation therapist. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring, reading and watching various shows on the History Channel. She also loved her special time with her high school life-long girlfriends. Preceding Cindy in death is her husband, Dick Blaker; and her parents, Evelyn and Fred Howland. Cindy is survived by her daughters: Natalie (Kirk) McElderry, Neela Nelson and Naomi (Aditya Malik) Nelson; grandchildren: Paige Herston, Annabela (James) Mazurek and Liam McLafferty; great-granddaughter, Lydia Mazurek; brothers: Pat Howland, Paul Howland and Fred Howland Jr.; lifelong special friends, Nancy Standal and Margie Wheaton; loving companion, Chuck Sahr; and beloved furbabies, Tuna and Mister. The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 4-8:00pm at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, WI. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00am (visitation from 10-11:00am) at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Webster, WI with Father Mike Tupa officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Pallbearers are Chuck Sahr, Paul Howland, Nancy Standal and Jennifer Schuler.
