Charles Molitor

Charles “Chuck” Edward Molitor, age 93, a resident of Grantsburg, WI passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Burnett Continuing Care Center.

Chuck was born on July 2, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI to parents Edward and Margaret (Dettman) Molitor.

He graduated in 1946 from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee. After high school he went to Milwaukee Institute of Technology for 2 years and graduated with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Electrical Technology. Chuck enlisted in the Army in October, 1948 and was stationed in Okinawa specializing in radio communications until his discharge in June of 1952. Chuck spent his career working for the Local Union 494 in Milwaukee. He spent many hours volunteering for Habitat for Humanity of Burnett County where he received a “Golden Hammer” award for his work. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Falun, Wisconsin for many years where he was actively involved in a variety of church activities.

Chuck married the love of his life Carla (Reuter) on June 29, 1957 at Hope Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.

Chuck enjoyed fishing, traveling and gardening, but his favorite things to do were playing cribbage, solitaire and visiting with family and friends.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Carla; brother, Robert; sisters, Lois and Mary; sister-in-law, Shirley; brothers-in-law, Roy, Ole and Ed; nephew, David; and nieces, Beth and Susan.

He is survived by his children, Edward (Betty) Molitor, Mary (Steve) Hoffman, John Molitor, and Steven (Carrie) Molitor; grandchildren, Daniel (Amy), Abigail (Mark), Becky, Bryan, King, Peter, Elisha, and Alvin; great-grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Fred, Charlotte, David, Elizabeth, Quorra, and 1 more due in May of 2022; sisters, Anne Lindquist and Dorothy (Norm) Wolf; brothers, John (Luann) Molitor and Bill (Alicia) Molitor; many nieces and nephews; and also many other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10-11 AM) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Falun, WI.
