Carolyn Bargel

Carolyn “Chris” Bargel, age 83, a resident of Danbury died August 28, 2014. Chris was born on July 10, 1931 in Palmyra, Wisconsin to Haldor and Elsie Christensen. On June 4, 1983 Chris was united in marriage to Wolfgang. Chris enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Norway to visit relatives. She also bicycled around England and France with several of her close friends. She taught school for 30 years. Since 1987 she spent her winters in Harlingen, Texas and her summers in Voyager Village, Danbury. She was very active in golf, bocce ball and playing bridge with her friends. She was a member of Lakeside Community Lutheran Church. In her free time she crotched, knitted and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wolfgang in 2007; her parents and a brother Donald. She is survived by her brother Harold (Jennifer); sister Joan; along with many nieces, nephews, stepchildren Astrid (Juergen) Weidling, Dieter (Sharon) Bargel and Elmar Bargel; sister in law Phyllis Christensen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at Lakeside Community Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Schroeder officiating.
