Carole Fay Friel, 88 years old, passed away on October 7, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her children at her bedside.
She was a mother of 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Carole was a member of Yellow Lake Lutheran Church where she enjoyed serving under her Pastor Doug (Dawn) Olsen and looked forward to being in service with her friends that she called family.
She went to a little country school, enjoying her favorite subjects, math and reading. Carole’s first job was at a restaurant working 3 hours a day, and also had several other jobs through her years working in factories. She retired from a school lunchroom where she worked in Lakeland, Florida where she and John lived for 33 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Friel of 55 years; daughter, Deborah McMonigal (Michael) and her son, Johnny Friel.
She is survived by her children, Charles Friel (Linda), Sandra Dyson (Ron), Diane Gray (David), Gail Koziski, Rick Friel (Jo), Vonda Barron (Ricky) and (Patsy Friel)
The family would like to thank the following: North Memorial Ambulance Service for their wonderful staff getting her to and from the hospital, and special care they gave her getting her settled in her home. The hospital staff at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital for the excellent care they gave her in her time of stay. Regional Hospice Services and Palliative Care staff for making her comfortable, and the knowledge given to her family to care for her at home. To all those who visited her at home, those who brought food, and for all the prayers that has gone up for our family.
Carole’s celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Yellow Lake Lutheran Church, 7615 County Road U, Danbury, Wisconsin 54830 with Pastor Doug Olsen officiating.
