Carl Borgen

Carl E. Borgen, age 83, a longtime resident of Danbury, Wisconsin, passed away quietly at Colfax Nursing Home on October 12, 2008. Carl was born August 31, 1925 in Wales, North Dakota to Elsie (Gradwell) and Oliver Borgen. He was raised with 4 brothers and 8 sisters. Carl was a veteran, serving in the Army. He was a farmer, carpenter and the father of 6 children. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and son Carl Borgen Jr. Carl is survived by G. Thomas (Nola) Borgen, Ethel Faye (Terrance) Lyon, Donald Lynn (Helen) Borgen, Turrie Ein (Iris) Borgen and Shelley Ann (Wallace) Bedard, "many" grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, longtime partner Celia Fredrickson, and friends. He will be missed. Funeral services were held October 16, 2008 at Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster, with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Music was provided by organist Fran McBroom. Interment followed October 17, 2008 in Hannah, North Dakota. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
